Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

I looooooooooove this time of year! As the song goes 'It's the most wonderfull time of the year'. As a crafter getting into the swing of christmas is a given, it's the perfect chance for us all to let our creative juices flow and our imaginations run wild with decorating, wrapping, gift buying and making, cooking... Unfortunately time has not been my friend this year (what with Hello Hula's participation in the Funky Craft Fayre this December, which was good fun btw - pics to come), but I thought I'd post a couple of the amazing and inspirational D.I.Y's that I've found on the blogosphere this festive season.

First up, is this creative way of stringing up your christmas lights from Jordan at Oh Happy Day. The colours and pure ingenuity of this hand crafted twinky light garland make my heart flutter. A fantastic tutorial.

These highly graphic, stunningly colourful christmas crackers found on Design*Sponge, will brighten up even the most traditional christmas dinner table. They remind me of pop artist Roy Lichtenstein's paintings, all they need is a nice big bold line tracing their shape. Check out the tutorial here.

And that's it mes cheries. Have yourselves a merry little christmas, I know I will!!!

Ok, so I know this list has been making the rounds on the blogosphere a lot recently, but it's so inspiring I had to post it. I am great at 1, 2 and 30 and not so great at 4, 18 and 26. And as for 27, what a great idea, next time a get a creative block I'm picking up my nearest Collins Dictionary!

Illustration Inspiration

Last Thursday I had to go to the dentist to get my bottom wisdom tooth out, I've been in pain and rendered useless ever since (Man, losing teeth is a pain in the ass!). On the upside it's given me a lot of time to root around the internet, and wow are there some inspiring things out there at the moment. Something that really caught my eye though was the work of Illustrator Becca Stadtlander. Her illustrations are both whimsical and pretty, and her use of colour is spot on, take a look and see what you think...

I think my favourite is the tiger, what's yours?
